Meet'n'Greet - Sunday June 11th
Final Update - June 12
Hi all. A great day was had by all. There wasn't enough time to talk about every we had planned. I hadn't anticipated how well the conversation would flow. The notes from the day can be found here. Thanks again. Joe
Update 3 - June 3rd
We have one week to go and the RSVPs are slowly trickling in, final preparations are being made to speeches and the snags are being taken out of the freezer (well I hope not actually).
This has been a dream run in terms of organisation due the fact that people have been so overwhelmingly forthcoming about wanting to meet some brisbane biodiesel peers. It really has been you that has made this so easy. So in return we have some exciting speakers who have volunteered their time to lighten the load on the day. Thank you to all of them.
Its a shame that some of the long time biofuelforum users cant make it this time around but we will make it up next time. I've been investigating the use of a public area for the purpose of a "small gathering". A school or public hall would be the go but its would need to be shaded, outdoor, access to running water and have plenty of fresh air. But thats months away yet.
Anyway barring any extreme unforseen circumstances we are set to go and I'll see you on the day. This will be the last update here and there may be one more email to you all.
Cheers
Joe

Update 2 - May 28th
Due to the overwhelming response to the "Inaugural Brisbane Biodiesel Meet'n'Greet" we will have to thank all that have expressed interest and close the books to any further people. But fear not. We will be holding another before Christmas and hopefully on the southside.
I will be mailing the early worms this weekend with the details but I can say at this stage it will be Sunday the 11th of June. Thats two wee weeks away so pack your questions up and be prepared for a fun and hopefully an informative day of biodiesel and snags.
Joe
Meet'n'Greet - Invitation
Hi All,
in case you haven't yet read about it, we are finally having a meeting. Yayyy, I can almost hear you say.
We will have a BBQ lunch, a few demo's, our first meeting - with an agenda and all and discussion sessions with a few choice topics. Our host has also indicated that we can camp for the night.
The venue and date is set. We have definately booked the the 11th of June 2006. I am in the process of mailing the members who have expressed interest in attending.
I'll also be calling for volunteers to do research on and give talks on a range of topics. Some include biodiesel safety (maybe someone with first aid training could do this), QLD biodiesel scene (it getting hot at the moment), Investment oppurtunities, biodiesel advances and what the future holds.
That'll be all for now and I'll do a mail out shortly when I've got some email addresses.
We are counting on you for your support and you will truly help make the day.
Cheers
Joe
